Pikolinos were established in 1984, a typically Spanish footwear designer. Season on season they produce handcrafted and hand sewn shoes inspired by nature and the Mediterranean. Pikolinos use the best quality cattle hide which is extremely soft to the touch and has a glossy shine. As their leathers are treated with natural waxes they become so flexible they adapt to each individual foot. How do Pikolinos fit?

— Pikolinos shoes fit true to size, our staff find that their shoes fit beautifully as their heel construction is contoured to the natural shape of the foot. As Pikolinos are made using such soft leathers they suit the majority of widths of feet, the leather adapts to the width of your foot, we find that most Pikolinos styles are deep.

Why is Pikolinos leather so soft and shiny?

— Pikolinos use leather from the best quality cattle hide which is treated with casein, a protein found in milk. After soaking the leather has a radiant shine and soft texture. The leather is also treated with natural waxes which add a glossy and healthy finish. The manufacturing process also includes a process where the leather hides are tumbled in a huge machine which resembles a washing machine, this softens the leather and adds a unique finish to the leathers.

Pikolinos specialize in "Driving shoes" what are these?

— Driving shoes have very flexible and lightweight soles, they usually have bobbled soles or have patches of rubber attached directly to the leather sole. Originally designed for driving they are now considered great as Summer casual wear.

What is the “sewn to sole” construction method?

— This is the construction method preferred by Pikolinos, their shoes are handcrafted and so the leather upper of the shoe is directly stitched by hand to the sole of the shoe. This process ensure premium quality and longevity.

What is “Pies Cuadrados”?

— This is literally translated as Square Feet but it is the term that Pikolinos give to the natural waxes that they cover the inside and outside of their shoes with.

Some Pikolinos shoes are treated with Scotch Guard, what does this mean?

— Scotch Guard is a unique formula repells liquids and prevents stains, this means that the shoes will look better for longer. You can also use Protector Spray to maintain the original Scotch Guard treatment.

Are Pikolinos shoes environmentally friendly?

— Pikolinos strive to be environmentally friendly, they use water based and solvent free dyes and glues and continue to search for more eco friendly production techniques.

What are the benefits of double density soles which Pikolinos use?

— Double density soles are hardwearing and durable, although they remain lightweight and flexible.

Are Pikolinos shoes made by hand?

— Pikolinos are very proud of their hand crafted production techniques, their leathers are treated by hand and crafted by skilled artisans.
